Founder of Halto
Meet Theo.
Meet Théo, producer and founder of Halto!
His career began with studies in the Calanques of Marseille, then he broadened his horizons by working for a startup in London, where he excelled in the field of artificial intelligence. However, his love of craftsmanship guided him towards a new adventure.
This is how his craft-based project was born: creating arranged rum kits. These kits have been a huge success online, particularly during the lockdown period. Thanks to this experience, Théo had the brilliant idea of merging the magic of arranged rum with ingredients from his native region, such as Montélimar nougat.
Thus, he developed a range of arranged rums highlighting regional delicacies: Candied Lemon from Menton , Candied Chestnut from Ardèche , Canelé from Bordeaux , Candied Clementine from Corsica , and of course, the famous Nougat from Montélimar .
Join Théo's workshop and let yourself be seduced by the perfect fusion of artisanal know-how and regional delicacies!

The history of arranged rum
Discover the intriguing history of rhum arrangé, a delicious concoction of fruits, plants, or spices steeped in rum. Its roots are closely linked to maritime voyages to India, where adventurous sailors and traders traveling the globe introduced what was then known as punch. This flavorful infusion involved spicing rum with various ingredients, inspired by the Hindi word "Panch," meaning five, reflecting the number of key components used—rum, sugar, fruit juice, cinnamon, and tea.
Originally used for its medicinal properties, rum served as a repository for beneficial plant compounds. From fatigue to men's health, it has become a remedy for many ailments.
The heritage of rum arrangé is varied and somewhat elusive, with influences ranging from the Indian population of Madagascar, who brought this tradition to Réunion, to its widespread adoption in the Caribbean and in the colonial trading posts where rum and spices exchanged hands.
In modern times, rhum arrangé has seamlessly integrated into French culture, transcending Creole markets and home kitchens. The growing popularity of rhum arrangé has spawned a thriving industry, in which skilled artisans elevate tradition by crafting exceptional products and exploring innovative recipes. While it was initially associated with molasses rums from Réunion Island, such as Charette, modern variations now incorporate rhum agricole from the Antilles.
Discover the enchanting history and vibrant resurgence of rum, which continues to captivate palates and imaginations.
